Diplomats Car Hire Sponsors "Welcome to Maula Prison" with MWK 5 Million and Limousine Support
Lilongwe, Malawi – 29 April 2025 — In a significant show of support for the local film industry, Diplomats Car Hire today announced its sponsorship of the highly anticipated movie Welcome to Maula Prison with a contribution of Five Million Kwacha and the provision of a limousine for the film’s promotional activities. The sponsorship was officially handed over during a cheque presentation ceremony held earlier today.
Speaking at the event, Wezi Chiweta, Deputy Managing Director of Diplomats Car Hire, emphasized the company's commitment to uplifting local industries.
"As a local company ourselves, we believe it is important to support and grow together with other Malawian industries," Chiweta said. "This sponsorship is a reflection of our belief in Malawian talent and our desire to invest back into our community."
The sponsorship was warmly received by the movie’s producer, Kendall Kamwendo, who expressed deep appreciation for the support, describing the contribution as both timely and instrumental to the movie's development.
"We are delighted and honored to receive this sponsorship from Diplomats Car Hire," Kamwendo said. "It is partnerships like these that keep the creative industry alive and thriving."
Welcome to Maula Prison is set to premiere on 2nd May in Lilongwe BICC, 3rd May in Blantyre, and 4th May in Mzuzu.
